In the name of organisational effectiveness or increased efficiency, many HR functions are being or have already been devolved to line managers. In some smaller organisations only have a small HR presence, meaning line managers are increasingly tasked with performing traditional HR functions but without the professional skills and knowledge that usually accompany these tasks. Line managers need a broad understanding of the law, rights and responsibilities of employees and managers, and an appreciation of how to get the best from their staff by managing processes and procedures well.
This course will help participants to understand the basic rights and responsibilities that employers and employees have, and how to operate basic HR and line management processes effectively and efficiently. It will help those with line management responsibilities have greater confidence in performing basic HR functions and in keeping their team high performing whilst doing the basics of management right.
Learning Outcomes:

- To describe the basic employee lifecycle and the key touchpoints within it to get right
