Panel Title: The Milburn Review: The Future of Youth Employment and Participation

Date and Time: 25th November 2026

Overview

The Milburn Review has highlighted growing concerns about young people’s transition from education into employment, including rising economic inactivity, barriers to entry-level work and gaps in the support available to those furthest from the labour market.

Following the publication of the Review’s final recommendations, this webinar will examine their implications for youth employment and participation policy and consider what they mean for government, employers, education and skills providers.

We will focus particularly on the transition from education into employment. Our panel will consider whether current routes into work are providing the opportunities young people need, the role employers can play in creating entry-level opportunities, and how education, skills and employment providers can better support young people facing barriers to entering and sustaining employment.

The discussion will explore how the Review’s recommendations could be translated into effective policy, considering the implications for organisations working to improve youth employment and participation and the challenges that may arise in implementation.
