Overview

In April 2022, Ofsted announced a series of changes, including an increase in section 5 school inspections for good and outstanding schools going forward, as well as an evaluation of Ofsted’s education inspection framework. This announcement followed a spending review boost last year, with Ofsted receiving £24 million to ensure all schools and colleges are inspected by June 2025. In light of these updates and changes, primary and secondary schools must come together to share best practice standards and learning to drive outstanding outcomes.

  • 86% of schools were judged to be Good or Outstanding in 2020
  • One-in-six schools previously rated ‘outstanding’ were downgraded to less than ‘good’ since inspections resumed in full in 2021
  • Of the schools inspected with pupils from the most deprived areas, 64% have been rated as good or outstanding

Join us at The School Inspections Conference 2023: Achieving and Maintaining Outstanding Standards to learn from leading best practice case studies and hear from high-level speakers across the education sector, enabling you to drive improvements based on Ofsted’s education inspection framework.
