In 2020 the Department for Education introduced compulsory Relationships and Sex Education for secondary school pupils.

Nick Dunne is the Head of Business Development at Brook. He has over 20 years’ experience in education and therapeutic services for young people. At Brook, he leads a multidisciplinary team who work with young people each year on a range of RSE and wellbeing offers.

In this video, Nick discusses what makes an LGBTQ+ inclusive curriculum, sharing feedback from LGBTQ+ youth on what they wish to learn in RSE. He highlights the need for teachers to create sensitive and age-appropriate lessons, supporting what students need and suggesting ways LGBTQ+ history can be embedded across the school curriculum.
