10,000 people across the UK are victims of modern slavery, according to Government statistics.

Lauren Saunders is Head of Policy & Research at Unseen. Unseen is an anti-slavery charity founded in 2008. They provide safe houses and support in the community for survivors of trafficking and modern slavery in addition to running the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline.

In this video, Saunders discusses some of the recent trends in modern slavery in the UK. Following this, she highlights the need for organisations to consult with survivors to ensure their voices are heard when developing trauma-centred care for survivors of modern slavery. The session concludes with recommendations for service improvement to ensure survivors can access the help they need in a safe and relaxed environment.
