This has inevitably enhanced the level of diversity in the policing sector, coupled with a concerted effort across the forces to create a more inclusive workplace culture. However, a distinct lack of women in senior positions and frequent reports of harassment and sexism indicate that more needs to be done to advance gender equality in policing.
