Support and representation for flood-risk communities are paramount, both during and after a flood. Each year, more than 2000 people receive practical support to address their flood risk through flood action groups, according to the National Flood Forum.

Founded 20 years ago, the National Flood Forum (NFF) is a national charity driven by flooded people and flooded communities, working for change at a grassroots level for a shift in governmental policy. Sanjay Johal is the Community Engagement Officer for NFF.

In this video, he discusses how the NFF provide support and representation for flood risk communities, including help with practical support and guidance as well as support both on site and online. He draws upon the disaster management cycle, exploring why flood action groups are needed and the importance of community at the heart of collaborative efforts during and after a flood.
