Those living in the most deprived areas of England spend a third of their lives in poor health, twice the proportion spent by those living in the least deprived areas. [1]

Dr Tammy Boyce is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Health Equity. She specialises in collating and analysing data on the social determinants of health inequalities, this data is then consulted as evidence for policies concerning health inequalities.

In this video, Tammy shares some of the latest insights from the Marmot Review, highlighting the impacts the Covid-19 pandemic had on health inequalities and life expectancy, focussing on data collated from the North West of England. Using this data, she discusses the role of partnership working between local authorities and NHS Trusts to tackle health inequalities.
