The number of people homeless in England is expected to rise by a third by 2024, according to Crisis.

Neil Munslow MBE is Active Service Manager at Newcastle City Council where he has worked since 1989. He is responsible for the coordination and delivery of income, financial inclusion and employment services in Newcastle. In 2011 Neil was awarded an MBE for services to local government.

Newcastle City Council won the World Habitat 2020 Gold Award for their work on homelessness prevention.

In this video Neil shares how Newcastle City Council have developed a citywide approach to preventing homelessness. He discusses the role of active inclusion in their policy and the importance of developing partnerships with external organisations to develop a long-term approach to preventing homelessness.
