Figures from the National Crime Agency reveal that there are over 2,000 county lines across the UK.

Detective Superintendent Andy O’Connor is the County Lines Lead for Merseyside Police. He has 28 years police experience, and for the last 12 years has been primarily involved in tackling all levels of serious and organised crime groups.

In this video, DS O’Connor discusses the importance of breaking the cycle of recruitment into criminality and county lines. He highlights the prevent strategies they have in place at Merseyside police, sharing the success of partnership working to prevent young people from being criminally exploited.
