Between March 2018 and 2020, students in England and Wales were over three times more likely than average to have experienced sexual assault according to the Office for National Statistics.

Donny McCormick is Deputy Director of Student Support Services at the University of Roehampton. He has spent 13 years working across universities supporting students, prioritising effective training strategies allowing staff to manage sexual violence and abuse disclosures.

In this video, Donny shares how the university has worked in partnership with the student union to build a bystander intervention programme. He discusses the role the programme has had on early intervention and embedding the student sexual violence policy at the university.
