The National Police Chiefs’ Council’s ‘Policing Vision’ states by 2025 policing will be a profession with a more representative workforce that better reflects its communities. [1] The National Police Autism Association is supporting this commitment by striving to remove the stigma around autism and other neurodivergent conditions.

John Nelson is a Sergeant at the British Transport Police and Chair of the National Police Autism Association (NPAA). He founded the NPAA in 2015 to support colleagues with a personal, family or professional interest in autism and to promote neurodiversity within policing.

In this video, John explores some of the challenges neurodivergent staff face within the police force. He shares workplace adjustments that can improve productivity and create more inclusive work environments where neurodiverse employees can achieve their full potential.
