2.4 million adults were recorded as victims of domestic abuse in the year ending 2022, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Carrie Bower is the Safeguarding Manager and Domestic Abuse Lead at AgeUK. She has been registered as a social worker since 2001, delivering safeguarding expertise across national charities and in adult social care.

In this video, Bower highlights the discrepancies in data collection and the lack of recognition of elderly domestic abuse victims. She explores the need for visibility in these cases to bring about a societal shift in perception towards domestic abuse cases to better protect and support victims.
