40% of LGBTQ+ people have experienced some level of conflict in the workplace according to CIPD research.

John Peart is a policy professional working in the UK Civil Service, alongside this role he is the chair of the Civil Service LGBTQ+ Network. The Civil Service LGBT+ Network is a staff network that represents the interests of civil servants with minority sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and variations in sex characteristics.

In this video, John discusses how the Civil Service Employee Network created a cross-government mentoring programme efficiently, helping colleagues with career development and providing them with some of the tools needed to overcome challenges they face in the workplace.
