1 in 6 school-aged children has a mental health problem, according to NHS Digital. The prevalence of mental health conditions is on the rise, and schools need to work together with NHS CYPMHS teams and their partners to deliver effective mental wellbeing support to children and young people.
Lauren Pinney is Head of PSHE and Student Wellbeing at Hove Park School. She oversees mental health education for all students and has developed a response to the mental health needs of students that blends both universal and targeted interventions in a mainstream setting.
