Almost 10,000 children were arrested for drug or weapon offences in 2019 and 2020, 15% of these children were first-time offenders aged 10-14. [1]

Dr Mandy Macdonald is a Child Protection Manager at Derby City Council, and has worked in child safeguarding for over 30 years. She has 12 years’ experience as a child protection manager, working within a quality assurance framework to help deliver and implement the child exploitation strategy. She is joined by her colleagues Simon Howard, Vulnerable Child Protection Manager and DI Beth Lee from Derbyshire Police.

In this video, Mandy, Simon and Beth discuss how training staff has helped deliver a cross-partnership approach to safeguarding children at risk of exploitation.
