In the UK, people with eating disorders face a 3.5-year delay between falling ill and starting treatment, according to Beat.

Duncan Campbell is the Lead for Clinical Care at EmpowerED and Fiona Jenkins is the Specialist Mental Health Project Manager. As the Lead for Care for EmpowerED Duncan champions the development of a genuinely accessible and excellent network of care to prevent the harm caused by eating disorders across the North West.

In this video, EmpowerED discuss the importance of including lived experience when improving eating disorder treatment services. Presenting alongside Mandy and India who are experts by experience, they outline the need for healthcare services to work with the community in developing community treatments to allow for a patient-centred approach to care.
