Home Office figures show that the UK offered protection to 22,648 people through asylum and resettlement in the year ending March 2022.

Rebecca Joy Novell is the Senior Manager of the Refugee Integration team for Lancashire County Council. The refugee integration team coordinate the arrivals and support for thousands of people who have entered Lancashire through over 10 different refugee and asylum resettlement routes.

In this video, Rebecca discusses the design and implementation of the refugee integration strategy at Lancashire County Council. Exploring the design of the strategy, she highlights how the council recruited staff with lived experience and consulted with the community to research what was needed to deliver these refugee-led projects.
