In a recent study conducted by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, one in nine mothers reported they were dismissed, made compulsorily redundant or treated so poorly they had to leave their job.

Kerry O’Dea is Co-Chair of the Gender Equality Network at Border Force and Deputy Director of the Border Force Portfolio Definition Team. Kerry previously worked in the Government Equalities Office as a Policy Advisor on the Women’s Engagement Programme delivering key priorities for the Ministers and ensuring women’s voices were heard across government. She also supported work on the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

In this video, Kerry discusses the Gender Equality Network, exploring the collaboration between employees it encourages. Outlining the priorities of the group, she highlights the benefits of clear branding to ensure messages are recognised by the whole organisation, improving support and awareness of the work the Network is doing to create lasting change in achieving gender equality in the workplace.
